Breathe In, Breathe Out

I was starting a new 40 day meditation program and wondering if it was worth it (40 days is a commitment!) and how it might help me. I asked a friend who had completed the same program if she had seen any results for herself. Her answer stuck to my mind and my heart…

“I learned that God is much closer to me than I thought.”

And then a short time later I happened upon a beautiful sentiment about the name of God, Yahweh ( Hebrew translation) being similar in spoken word to the sound of our breathing. So that each time we breathe we are speaking his name. God is with us. ❤️🙏

“ Be still and know that I am God”

Our breath is intimately connected to our being. The very last thing that God did before we “ were” is breathed into our nostrils. Think about a newborn babe taking his first breath. That is the signal that he is alive!

Breath sustains our life force and animates our Spirit. Our breath is a gift from God. It is our essence.

In order to bring peace to your mind, watch and regulate the breath.

“God chose to give himself a name that we can’t help but speak every moment we’re alive. All of us, always, everywhere. Waking, sleeping, breathing, with the name of God on our lips.” -Sandra Thurman Caporale
